Insurance sector sales increase 17.3% in the first two months of 2024

Personal insurance stood out in the period, with an increase of 23%
Insurance companies’ revenue in the first two months of the year was R$68.29 billion, an increase of 17.3% compared to the same period in 2023, according to data from the Private Insurance Superintendency (Susep).
According to the report, the amounts returned to society totaled R$38.99 billion by the second month of the year, of which R$18.19 billion in February alone.
The property and casualty insurance segments, excluding VGBL, had revenues of R$ 32.14 billion, an increase of 12.7% compared to the same period of the previous year, when revenues were R$ 28.5 billion.
The edition also informs that personal insurance increased by 23.1%, compared to the same period in 2023. Highlight in personal insurance products during the period, VGBL reached the accumulated amount of R$ 29 billion, a value that represents a growth of 25.5% compared to the same period in 2023.
Damage insurance saw an increase of 10.7% in premium collection. In the auto insurance business line, premiums reached R$8.81 billion, 4.6% higher than in the first two months of last year.
